CARDONE is seeking an experienced Electrical Product Engineer to join its growing Engineering division.This group is focused on new product development to increase CARDONE’s footprint and product offerings. Who are we?


Experience: 3-5 years’ related experience required to be considered

Education:   Bachelor’s Degree-Electrical Engineering Required


  • Automotive communication protocols, CAN, J1850, SCI
  • Reverse engineering experience
  • Knowledge of how embedded systems work.
  • Programming experience preferred
  • Great documentation, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to reverse engineer ECU in order implements equipment and procedures to reset the ECU to factory state
  • Ability to learn and understand legacy test systems and programs
  • An understanding of automotive systems, control modules, module reprogramming, anti-theft systems and automotive diagnostics
  • Ability/willingness to do hands-on troubleshooting of software/hardware problems and provide assistance where needed


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Functions as the product technical expert to manufacturing, purchasing, marketing, technical services and vendors
  • Develops functional test specifications, process specifications, and test equipment requirements
  • Designs BOM formats for new product lines and new technologies
  • Approves consolidations and conversions
  • Develops raw material specifications and gage dimensions
  • Conducts raw material inspections
  • Conducts warranty, labor claim and accident claim analysis
  • Conducts finished goods inspections
  • Provides product specific technical training to Design Engineers, Product Technicians and product Research Technicians
  • Document processes, criteria, and specifications according to quality standards
  • May design and document cost effective conversions and repairs
  • Write software program to functionally test ECU.
  • Design fixture wiring between Unit under Test (UUT) and test systems
  • Provide specifications for modifying test equipment when current test equipment is inadequate for late model ECU
  • Provide repair suggestions to repair development team for failed units
  • Perform On Car Testing to gather information, test raw materials, or prove out initialization process
